Building motivation to quit smoking

There are two states of mind that must be met for a smoker to quit voluntarily. These elements essential are called "Desire" and "decision."

DESIRE: a need, want or desire

DECISION: Manufacturing mind / a verdict or sentence

to quit smoking, you have to want to quit. You may want to quit, at least a part of you does, or if would not be reading this article.

In addition, smoking cessation, should not decide the addiction to cigarettes. Why not quit, it just means you have not decided to quit again.

So you need to feel a strong motivation to make a decision "to quit.

Motivation, we all want. The source of each of our motivations is a belief. Think about it, if they are not convinced that would be a mistake you've jumped off a building several floors, then you do not feel motivated to be on the lookout. If you do not believe that the stinging sensation that you meant they were hungry stomach, do not feel motivated to eat.

When it comes to giving up the addiction to cigarettes, people who smoke should feel a great motivation for the decision stop. The motivation is based on ideas we believe. Therefore, you need to know exactly what are the ideas that motivate if you believe. Because when you feel strongly motivated smoking cessation.

Thanks to NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) and hypnosis motivation is much easier to learn to believe that these new ideas that you think is. However, you do not believe ideas that motivate you to stop smoking in that place, or have already stopped smoking cigarettes.

For purposes of this discussion, we need to define some words.

Mat: Uncertain / suspect / dubious – "can be that way, and maybe not."

MYTH: Trust / Faith / Principle – A state of mind, no doubt. In other words, faith means is the way it is. "

Much appreciated CRITERIA: What is more important to you as an individual human being.

When you think that if you continue to smoke your criteria is put at risk of great value, you will feel the motivation you need to break your addiction to cigarettes. We call this a negative motivation, because it is a belief that motivates him bad feelings. motivation are right to go negative to make decisions and changes in their lives.

When you think that if he does not value its criteria to improve, will also feel the motivation you need to quit smoking. This is a positive motivation, as motivated by the promise of good feelings if you stop smoking.

The first mission is to help understand what the most critical aspects of your life are. Its greatest value of the criteria are often intangible. For example, the money would not be very popular with the criteria but freedom pleasure or security that money can buy would be. Write a list of criteria in a popular piece of paper.

Then you must decide what you need to believe to feel motivated to break the habit. Here's the good news, so to speak: the logic has nothing to do with belief. Things no sense for a person to believe in them. In fact, rarely are. So do not worry about logic!

The layout of your beliefs are negative motivation: "I think if I continue smoking, something terrible will happen to my channel more appreciated."

Make sure your motives framework in the affirmative. In other words, in any case, what you want or what happened. Never say that this does not happen. Remove the "no" word of faith.

In this example, we say that the welfare of their children is their most popular approach.

Incorrect: "I think if I continue smoking, I'm not going to make my child's health at all."

CORRECT: "I think if I continue to smoke, my secondhand smoke will make my kids sick."

Then, create a list of positive motivational factors. "I think if I quit: (Something very important will be enhanced)."

Incorrect: "I think if I stop smoking, I will not make my kids sick. "

CORRECT: "I think if I quit, my children will be safe because it will eliminate their exposure to hazards my secondhand smoke. "

The next step is to change the computer codes in the brain to make you think of these ideas into reality motivation. Now, for a bomb: Their beliefs have nothing to do with what's real. Instead, their beliefs have much to do with their perception of reality. In other words, has much to do with the way you see things.

Our belief systems are in our subconscious. The subconscious mind is like a computer. Teams do not make sense. The input to a computer controls the output of a computer. To demonstrate this, I think of something they already believe, without doubt. That is a belief that makes you feel good.

For example, it is easy for most people to believe that love their children. If this is true for you, make a mental image that allows you to experience this feeling of love.

I have a few questions, and there are no right or wrong.

Is your mental image of a moving image, or more?

is Color or black and white?

Is it close or distant?

Is it focused or fuzzy?

It is usually clear, very bright or dark?

Is there a border on that?

Are there no limits?

Is there a picture?

No matter your answers are in writing. Are code computer you use your subconscious to feel your feelings faith. Here are the codes to believe positive mental, because you have chosen a belief that gives a sense positive. You have just calibrated your positive belief.

All images are bright and focused positive belief. If yours does not, then you probably do not believe really in its entirety. An element of doubt is probably present. So find another belief to calibrate.

If you think of something you have doubts, and you make a mental image of it, one or more of these computer codes is likely to be different. Similarly, if you have a conviction that makes you feel negative (negative belief): one or more of these codes will be different.

In NLP we call these computer codes visual submodalities.

Now you have to calibrate a negative belief. Therefore, repeat the same process, but do so with an idea that you think you already feel horrible.

Once you have calibrated both positive and negative aspects of their beliefs, is an easy question to manipulate what you think you can motivate decides to quit.

Therefore, to summarize, using the example above: "I think if I continue to smoke, my secondhand smoke will ruin the health of my son."

1. Be aware of how feel motivated to quit smoking.

2. Make a mental image illustrates the above belief.

3. Set the computer codes (visual submodalities) image to match the image codes of negative calibration belief.

4. If you are right handed, put your eyes (and your mental image) on your left and keep there for five seconds. If you are on the left, turn right. This will help you quickly memorize the creed.

5. Now I feel how much I feel motivated to quit smoking. You feel more motivated? Do you feel less motivated? Or do you feel the same?

By using this system, you can believe anything, making an image in your mind that illustrates your new idea, then adjusting your mental image to match your calibrated belief picture.

And if you have the belief that what slows down, you can use the same technique to change that belief to doubt to change one or two of submodalities and stored in this way.

Now you can motivate decide to quit smoking, you can stop smoking. A decision to stop saying I'm going, no matter what the cost. If you're like most, do not want to leave to feel bad. The good news is that you will not have to suffer. Since there are several hypnotic and NLP methods that can reduce or completely eliminate the discomfort of withdrawal addiction cigarettes to snuff.
